WHAT IS YOGA?

 The word Yoga comes from the ancient Indian language known as sanskrit. Literally translating to mean "Union" "Yoke"  or to "Unite". Yoga aims to connect and balance mind, body, and spirit through the synchronization of breath with movement. Yoga is a form of moving meditation, In a yoga class you are reminded by the teacher to always come back to your breath, Meaning to always focus your  mind on what your lungs are doing while also bringing your awareness to what ever pose your body is in. Postures of Yoga go beyond the physical, as they can properly align your chakras and bring your energy in line with the universe.

 For those people who are looking for a good work out, and are not into the spiritual side of yoga can still benefit from a great power Yoga class, or flow class. Yoga can also help to heal injuries and help to deal with stress by learning different breathing techniques and new ways of letting go. What ever it is you are looking for, you must find the right teacher for you, and the right style of Yoga. Explore different studios and classes until you find what is right for you. Yoga is so personal, and can become a very deep spiritual path or your favorite workout on monday nights, whatever you do, make it yours and always remeber to listen to your body :D
